Salesforce keeps doing the simple part well: beating EPS estimates, and by a lot. The latest quarter listed here shows $5.90 versus $3.31, a 78.4% surprise, after prior beats of 23.2% and 23.9%, so the streak is intact and the magnitude accelerated. The data you gave repeats Q2 2027, so the record is a bit messy, but the direction is not. In our coverage, that same quarter also came with $11.3 billion in revenue, up 11% year over year, plus management saying 50% of bookings came from customers buying more Flex Credits — basically prepaid usage for AI tools — which matters more than any grand “platform” slogan.

That fits what Salesforce has actually been shipping: an upgraded Slackbot AI agent, OpenAI model integrations, and Agentforce infrastructure work on Amazon SageMaker for higher availability across multiple cloud zones. It is also trying to be the switchboard for other people’s tools, with integrations tied to Amazon Quick and WorkHQ, so the bet is not just “use our AI,” but “run your workflow through our stack.” The investment trail points the same way: Salesforce participated in Wonderful’s latest round and has backed Sakana AI through Salesforce Ventures, which keeps it close to emerging enterprise AI supply rather than relying only on internal R&D.

The open question is how much of this is durable product pull versus early-cycle experimentation dressed up as bookings. “Customers refilling the tank” is encouraging, but it does not tell us which AI products are sticky, which integrations are driving real adoption, or how much OpenAI and AWS dependencies shape the economics underneath. Still, the numbers say Salesforce is converting the AI-agent narrative into reported results better than many enterprise software peers pretending a chatbot is a strategy.
