Mistral released Mistral 3, a family of open-source models including three smaller dense models (3B, 8B, 14B parameters) and Mistral Large 3, a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 41B active parameters and 675B total parameters. Mistral Large 3 ranks second on the LMArena leaderboard for open-source non-reasoning models and was trained on 3,000 NVIDIA H200 GPUs. The models are available today across multiple platforms including Hugging Face, Amazon Bedrock, and Azure Foundry under the Apache 2.0 license.

Partnering with Ricursive Intelligence: A Premier Frontier Lab Pioneering AI for Chip Design

Sequoia announced a partnership with Ricursive Intelligence, led by Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini, to advance AI-driven chip design via the AlphaChip effort. The piece says chip design at leading-edge nodes can take 18–36 months, and it cites multi-month Blackwell delays causing more than $10 billion in lost 2025 revenue. It frames the change as automating more of the chip design flow to cut cycle times from months or years to hours or days and enable faster, cheaper, and more novel chip designs.
