OpenAI introduced GPT-6 Astra, which costs 2.5x more per token than GPT-5.6 Sol, but OpenAI says developers can still save money by lowering Astra’s reasoning effort when upgrading.

IFM (MBZUAI’s Institute of Foundation Models) released K2 Horizon, a set of six Apache 2.0 open models plus training artifacts and deployment support. The fleet includes a 375B-A23B model trained on roughly 20 trillion tokens. IFM added audit documentation of its own benchmark runs, with an audit removing 24 trials across 10 tasks and lowering reported accuracy from 70.2% to 66.9%.
