MBZUAI IFM releases K2 Horizon, a suite of six Apache 2.0 open foundation models with training artifacts and deployment support

Open source release Provisional 78% confidence first seen

MBZUAI’s Institute of Foundation Models (IFM) released K2 Horizon, six Apache 2.0 licensed foundation models ranging from 0.9B to 375B parameters, along with training artifacts and deployment support. IFM also published audit documentation for its benchmark runs, reporting a revision that removed 24 trials across 10 tasks and lowered accuracy from 70.2% to 66.9%. Separate coverage notes that parts of the training lifecycle materials (e.g., some checkpoints and compute details) were delayed or incomplete at launch, raising questions about end-to-end reproducibility.
