MatAlytics was awarded a £619,000 grant from Innovate UK to develop scalable structural physics AI for the steel sector using its CITRUS platform. The grant is £619,000 and follows an earlier Innovate UK award of £100,000. MatAlytics will move its physics-based AI proof of concept toward a deployable solution, aiming to replace hours- or days-long simulation runs with results in seconds and enabling faster industrial validation and market traction.
Impetus Technologies built an operational framework aimed at bridging the “context gap” between what AI models know and enterprise-specific organizational context for agentic AI deployments. The framework is called CEDL (Context Engineering Delivery Lifecycle). Impetus says it uses context engineering, including knowledge graphs and memory, to make its Leap AI suite move agents into production with better business-aligned behavior.
Jane Street reported roughly $15 billion of losses in July, its first down month in about a decade, tied in part to losses from its investment in the AI-focused hedge fund Situational Awareness and to wrong-way bets in Asian equities. The swing came in July. As a result, Jane Street says it has closed a significant portion of risk in the areas that hurt in July and is more selective about taking risk while it moves ahead with a $14.6 billion bond refinancing.
Nvidia disclosed it holds about $21 billion worth of SpaceX stock and about $30 billion worth of Intel shares. The SpaceX position corresponds to roughly 122.8 million shares as of June 30. Nvidia’s latest filings add the SpaceX value for the first time and update the Intel stake value after a jump from about $9.5 billion three months earlier.
Berkshire Hathaway increased its Delta Air Lines and Alphabet holdings as CEO Greg Abel began using the company’s cash pile. Berkshire added 17.5 million Delta shares, valuing the stake at $5.37 billion by the end of June. The changes raise Berkshire’s Alphabet stake to $37.8 billion at midyear and expand investment activity while its cash fell to $365.5 billion.
Cursor is now officially part of SpaceX after the acquisition closed, according to a Cursor blog announcement. The deal option was for $60 billion. Cursor says it will gain access to SpaceX’s computing infrastructure and GPU resources for scaling its work.
Nvidia partnered with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR to create financing platforms that treat AI compute as collateral for AI infrastructure.
Google’s Jeff Dean and Sanjay Ghemawat left the company, and the market treated the departures as a talent crisis. Alphabet’s share price fell 4% in a day. The article argues this likely reflects changes in how Alphabet allocates capital and compute across the AI cycle rather than a sudden loss of belief in AI talent.
