Meta introduced Muse, a personal AI agent for U.S. consumers that can take actions in connected apps such as email, calendars, and payments.
At launch, Muse is free to use but requires a payment card and offers two paid plans priced at $20/month (Power) and $100/month (Maximum).
The rollout changes consumer AI use by shifting from chatbot-style responses to app-linked task handoffs, while Meta emphasizes secure handling to address trust and privacy concerns given its past privacy and consumer-harms settlements.
Meta is releasing Muse, a personal AI assistant it says can handle everyday tasks and projects on a user’s behalf. The company positions it as the latest move in a multi-billion-dollar strategy overhaul, with Muse able to work independently after a user sets a goal. This shifts Meta’s AI product lineup toward goal-based, browser-using automation aimed at catching up to rivals like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
A group of Claude subscribers filed an expanded class action lawsuit claiming Anthropic misled power users about the limits of its Max subscription tier. The complaint says the advertising about what customers would get from the top-tier subscription was deceptive. As a result, Anthropic faces legal scrutiny over its subscription disclosures and how its pricing limits are communicated to users.
The author argues that programming is “art” and says they personally avoid AI because it creates text they dislike. They claim they would not hand over the act of coding to AI agents, viewing the process of writing code as the point. As a result, they reject the idea that AI will soon replace programmers and frame AI assistance claims as irrelevant to people who code for creative reasons.
Speechmark launched today as a private macOS meeting-notes app that records, transcribes, and summarizes meetings on your Mac. It’s available with a one-time price and doesn’t require an account. The change is that meeting notes can be generated locally with no bot joining the call and with integration to Claude Code via an MCP server.
ChatGPT is getting a feature that aims to write in a user’s voice by using examples from connected Slack or Gmail accounts. Some users have reportedly had the feature for weeks. It would change ChatGPT’s outputs to better match each person’s writing style based on their existing messages.
