Perplexity launched Hybrid Compute in its Mac app, splitting AI work between cloud and the user’s Mac. It requires a minimum of 24GB RAM and is available for Pro, Max, and Enterprise. The cloud handles research and reasoning while local processing keeps anything that touches private files on-device instead of uploading it.
OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra and made it generally available on Amazon Bedrock, bringing deeper reasoning and judgment plus support for code and file work to production workloads. GPT-6 Astra can review contract documents in a context window of up to 1 million input tokens. It adds enterprise plugins for ChatGPT Work, strengthens Bedrock-based security and governance (including real-time misuse safeguards), and lets teams call Astra via Bedrock APIs or configure ChatGPT Work/Codex to use it on Bedrock.
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is used with a GitHub Actions pipeline to deploy an AI agent plus an OAuth-protected MCP server, evaluate agent sessions with the AgentCore Evaluate API, and fail PRs when scores regress. The quality gate is set to require at least 0.8 out of 1.0 for overall evaluation before merges proceed. CI can authenticate headlessly by using an M2M token flow that bypasses role checks in the MCP layer while preserving role enforcement for interactive user tokens, so PRs are blocked based on the current code changes.
Dome Systems, founded by former HashiCorp CEO Dave McJannet, is building an enterprise platform to govern AI agents that can take variable tool-based routes and actions. Dome launched from stealth in April with $14 million in seed funding and is now opening the platform to self-serve users. This shifts agent governance from enterprises piecing together separate model/tool gateways to a single control layer with centralized permissions, response guards, quotas, and audit trails.
Spaces launched as a desktop app where teams and their AI agents share one space per project, combining shared chats, files, and scheduled routines. It supports any LLM provider and is free to start. As a result, teams can centralize AI-agent work across chats and assets in a single per-project workspace, including optional local model use.
Cline is launching the Cline Desktop app as an open-source workspace for using open-weight AI models. It launches today. The app lets users run multiple agent sessions, automate recurring tasks, and extend model capabilities via Cline’s Marketplace without being tied to a closed ecosystem.
