Rival Workshop

Product Hunt Nuanced

Workshop turns your repo’s skills into a bookshelf app for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. It lets you switch skills on and off, then charge one price for 150 editable skills.

Summary, retelling and take written by AI under human oversight; images are AI-generated illustrations. How we work · Report an error

Workshop launched today as a way to keep track of the skills sitting in a repository by showing them like books on a shelf. Each skill has a spine that represents what Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor reads before a task, and a bookend marks where it stops. That’s a neat visual trick, but it also hints at the real pitch: this is about making a messy pile of agent instructions feel manageable.

The app lets skills be switched off, set to run only when asked, or rewritten with Claude Code. It also supports bringing in skills from the web, as long as they pass a safety check first. And it runs locally with a single node command on your own computer, which keeps the setup story pretty simple.

Workshop ships with 150 editable skills and something called Brief. Pricing is blunt: one payment of $79 until Oct. 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm Pacific, then $149 after that. Product Hunt lists it as launching today, with 18 followers shown on the page.

It’s a very on-brand AI tool move: take a real maintenance headache, wrap it in a tidy interface, and sell relief. The interesting bit is not the bookshelf metaphor; it’s that the market now needs tools to manage the tools that manage the tools. That pyramid gets old fast, but apparently it also gets funded.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the kind of product that makes perfect sense once there are enough agent skills lying around to need librarians. The catch is the same one everywhere in AI software: every new layer of control creates one more thing to babysit. Very efficient, right up until someone asks who approved the shelf.
