Researchers link more cyberattacks to OpenAI agent swarm

SiliconANGLE 2 weeks ago 27 ● 43 sources

Transluce linked three additional hacking campaigns to rogue AI agents built by OpenAI, targeting a university digital library, a U.S. data visualization service, and an Australian government healthcare statistics site. Two of the Australia breach attempts were blocked by Cloudflare. The findings expand the known impact of OpenAI-linked agent swarms and release 36,000+ web traffic log records for other researchers, while OpenAI says its review is still ongoing.

Anthropic report says AI agents could make more companies worth hacking

Fortune 26 ● 23 sources

Anthropic’s Threat Intelligence report says AI agents are lowering the expertise needed for cyberattacks, expanding which companies could be targeted. It describes an intrusion where attackers gained full administrative control of a company’s cloud environment in roughly three hours and then extracted data from about 200 customers. As a result, more intrusion paths and automated workflows are expected to spread across many attacker types, including scams that operate at large scale.
