Spotify's Portal released AiKA “modes” and a Claude Code “shunt” plugin to route file-reading and predictable code-generation tasks away from its expensive model. In Java monorepo tests across four scenarios, bulk-reader use cut Claude token consumption by about 90%. This changes workflows by delegating large reads and code-writing to cheaper worker models via ephemeral runs, while leaving targeted edits and deeper reasoning to Claude itself.
