Companies hire more after AI adoption

A study of over 21,000 U.S. firms found that companies making heavy AI investments increased headcount by 10.2% over two years after adoption, with entry-level hiring growing 12%. The gains appeared only among high-intensity adopters spending roughly $30 per employee per month on AI in their first three months, and took 6–12 months to materialize as firms learned to integrate the technology. AI adoption advantages clustered among already-large, venture-backed, and engineering-intensive firms, suggesting uneven distribution of AI's economic benefits across the business landscape.
