OpenAI's first Fellow cohort completed a 6-month apprenticeship program where participants advanced from machine learning beginners to core contributors on OpenAI projects. The program ran for six months and produced Fellows ready to work on substantive OpenAI research. The completion of this pilot cohort established a template for ongoing talent development at the organization.
Why it matters
Our first cohort of OpenAI Fellows has concluded, with each Fellow going from a machine learning beginner to core OpenAI contributor in the course of a 6-month apprenticeship.
