OpenAI trained Sora, a large-scale video generation model using diffusion and transformers on variable-length videos and images. The model can generate up to 60 seconds of high-fidelity video from text descriptions. The researchers propose that scaling video generation represents a viable approach to creating general-purpose simulators of physical phenomena.

At SailPoint’s Navigate event, identity security shifted from “discover what’s running” to “remediate access while it’s running,” backed by an AWS metric: Bedrock AgentCore task activity grew 15x in the first six months of 2026, with new agents created every 4.5 seconds. The governance answer is increasingly operational: just-in-time authorization, binding agent permissions to named human owners, and enforcing policies outside the agents themselves—so a runaway tool call can’t quietly turn into a permissions bypass.
