Google DeepMind’s Genie 4 claim to fame is making AI-generated worlds you can actually inhabit—then listen to. The new world model builds real-time, explorable 3-D environments from natural-language prompts, with synchronized audio (crashing waves and the like) and coherence that holds for up to two minutes—double Genie 3’s stretch—before the usual paper-thin stability rules start to show. Google is careful about where this lands first: Genie 4 is limited to trusted testers, then rolls out to Google AI Ultra subscribers and select partners, alongside a warning that details can drift and objects can vanish after edits.
