The momentum feels practical, and it comes with money behind it: Instinct’s latest round valued the company at $10 billion after a $1 billion raise in September 2026. Meta, OpenAI, and Uber are making the same shift toward agents that initiate rather than wait, as with Meta’s Muse, OpenAI’s Dots, and Uber’s driver assistant—along with the key new problem of agent timing. The hard part is deciding when a message adds value versus when it’s just interruption, using decision models that estimate the cost to the user as well as the benefit.
