Chrome Decisions API: the prompts, limits, engines and code reviews behind DecisionModel

DEJAN 5 days ago 32

Chrome’s DecisionModel API code landed in Chromium between 6 and 8 October 2026 as an on-device web API for evaluating closed questions about a text and returning per-answer probabilities. Chrome’s EmbeddingGemma engine runs on an 8-question batch in about 9.6 seconds on CPU. Review findings and experiments show option probabilities are computed via softmax over cosine similarities with limits on questions, options, and rating levels, after which Chrome now scores each option against its own session to avoid earlier-answer leakage and blocks model downloads without a user gesture from 8 October.

KernelAI

Product Hunt 5 days ago 30

KernelAI launched a mobile app that lets users run multiple AI models locally on iPhone and Android, including chat, PDF/document reading with on-device RAG, image understanding, and offline code writing. It offers 53 open models from 15 labs. It shifts AI usage to the phone itself by keeping local chats and documents on-device and allowing fully offline model use after a one-time download.

CoreWeave targets AI inference bottlenecks with full-stack optimization

SiliconANGLE 5 days ago 23 ● 7 sources

CoreWeave says it is tackling AI inference bottlenecks by building managed, full-stack services on top of its GPU infrastructure. In testing, its CoreWeave RL Rollouts preview improved model reload latency by 15x versus a baseline configuration. CoreWeave is packaging these capabilities into CoreWeave Forge, which adds serving, observability, post-training, and evaluation with a free starting tier and paid add-ons.
