Walmart is rolling out an Agent Gateway that lets approved shopping agents browse Walmart inventory and complete purchases on a user’s behalf—while tracking spend per agent and enforcing separate controls for each transaction. Around the same shift in “agent governance by design,” Anthropic introduced Claude Duet, built on Claude Opus 5.5, as a research preview that runs through iOS/Android apps and the web, sending daily briefs and prompting users only when action is needed. Enterprise security is catching up too: Red Hat expanded its partnership with NVIDIA to add runtime and infrastructure enforcement for autonomous AI agents on NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin infrastructure, including BlueField-3 support and Sentry monitoring designed to quarantine a compromised agent in milliseconds.
