Anthropic announced that Claude Fable 5 will become a permanent feature in Max and Team Premium subscription plans starting July 20, available at 50% of normal limits, while Pro and Team Standard users retain access through credits and receive a $100 one-time credit. The move reverses Anthropic's earlier plan to remove Fable 5 from subscriptions and offer it only via API, a decision prompted by competition from GPT-5.6 Sol and Kimi 3 that made subscription-only access untenable.
