The incubator launching Scotland’s next generation of tech: ‘We need to pull the bigger players into the Scottish market’

Sifted

Scotland's University of Edinburgh, government programme Techscaler, and CodeBase have established the Venture Builder Incubator, a five-month programme helping academic founders commercialise deeptech research into startups. Since 2021, the incubator has supported 164 founders and businesses that have collectively raised £58 million in grants and investments. The expanded nationwide programme aims to retain Scottish talent and attract external investors by equipping researchers with commercial, sales, and storytelling skills needed to scale their innovations.
