OpenAI and its partners plan to build large-scale infrastructure to support artificial general intelligence development. The project, called Stargate Infrastructure, will require coordination across power supply, land acquisition, construction, and data center equipment sectors. This represents a shift toward OpenAI directly managing the physical infrastructure underpinning its AI systems rather than relying solely on existing cloud providers.
