Qiskit Fermions: a modular toolbox for fermionic systems

Qiskit Fermions was introduced as an open-source toolbox for expressing fermionic operators and circuits, defining fermion-to-qubit mappings, and compiling fermionic workflows into qubit circuits via Qiskit transpilation. It reported that two-qubit depth stays constant at 12 from 4 to 100 sites for 1D Fermi-Hubbard dynamics, while a conventional Jordan-Wigner approach grows to 407 at 100 sites. The result is that mapping is delayed until partway through transpilation, enabling constant-depth, symmetry-aware circuit optimizations without manually hand-building circuits.
