Sovera Security secures €535K from EIFO to build sovereign AI cybersecurity

Danish cybersecurity company Sovera Security has picked up €535,000 from EIFO, the Danish Export and Investment Fund, to push its AI security plans further.

The company’s bet is straightforward, if ambitious: Europe wants the benefits of AI in security without handing the keys to outside providers. Sovera says it builds systems that detect and respond to cyber threats while keeping control over data, infrastructure, and the most critical security decisions.

That control is not just a slogan. Sovera runs its own data centre and uses its own GPUs to power an AI-native security platform. It combines automation and AI with human expertise, and it keeps the final call on serious security decisions with people, not software.

The company is aiming at critical infrastructure operators and mid-to-large enterprises, where resilience, compliance, secure data handling, and governance matter more than flashy demos. The new funding is meant to help it improve its AI capabilities and infrastructure, grow the team, and expand its sales push across Denmark, the Nordics, and the wider European market.

EIFO clearly sees the timing as strategic. Its own view is that Denmark already has the raw material to build serious cybersecurity companies, and that Sovera can compete internationally if it keeps moving. That’s a tidy fit for a continent that keeps talking about digital resilience while still relying on non-European providers for key technologies.
