Speakeasy launched Kit, its coding agent runtime and the company’s 7th launch. Kit is delivered as a one-file static binary that includes a terminal client, an ACP server, an A2A endpoint, and a subagent orchestrator. By using ACP to separate agent clients from runtimes, Kit can run with compatible editors and coordinate other harnesses without custom integrations.

AI’s biggest day wasn’t about another bigger model, but about the plumbing that lets models get cheaper and faster: Verda’s rise as Europe’s compute builder. The Helsinki-based AI cloud provider just hit unicorn status after a €161 million (about $189 million) Series B led by Emergence Capital, pushing its valuation above $1 billion and total funding past $450 million. Verda says it’s aiming for more than 250 megawatts of operation by 2027, using the money to expand data centers, hardware, and its full-stack software platform—an unglamorous focus that’s increasingly where AI economics are decided.
