— insufficient price data
Correlation does not establish causation. Market moves have many simultaneous causes — macro news, sector rotation, earnings and unrelated company events — and the timing of our daily closes may not align with when an event actually reached the market (pre-announcements, leaks, after-hours trading). Moves are shown next to the S&P 500 (SPY) over the same window so market-wide swings are visible, not hidden. None of this is investment advice.

The TLDRocket take Q2 2027 · written 4 Sep 2026
Snowflake’s latest print says the same thing it has for four quarters now: beat. Q2 2027 EPS came in at 0.62 versus 0.46 expected, a 36.2% surprise, after beats of 20.1% in Q1 2027 and 15.6% in Q4 2026. The table provided repeats Q2 2027 twice, so the clean read is a three-quarter sequence in the data shown, not four distinct quarters. Either way, the direction is clear: the surprise margin has been solid, and the most recent quarter was the biggest beat in this set.
What Snowflake has been shipping fits that pattern. It is leaning harder into enterprise AI on top of its core data platform, with Cortex AI Gateway aimed at governing and monitoring AI agents and a $200 million OpenAI partnership meant to pull frontier models closer to Snowflake-hosted data. That matters because Snowflake’s pitch is less “yet another model” and more “keep the data where it is and make the AI usable there,” which also shows up in its AWS integration work and in the Amazon SageMaker Canvas workflows we covered. Snowflake Arctic adds another angle: an open-source model tuned for SQL conversion and coding tasks, which is practical rather than glamorous — often a good sign in enterprise software.
The caveat is that the dataset here is thin on the usual supporting details: no revenue, no guidance, no margins, no consumption trends. So the earnings beat is real, but the durability of it has to be inferred from product motion and partnerships rather than operating detail. There is also some friction beneath the surface: Snowflake is pushing AI infrastructure and agent governance while a real security miss in its GitHub Actions workflow was found by Wiz’s Red Agent after GitHub Copilot missed it. For a company selling governed enterprise AI, that is not ideal, though it does underscore why control layers like Cortex AI Gateway may find an audience.
