HackerRank and OpenAI roll out AI- and mission-based interview steps to evaluate job candidates during hiring

HackerRank is launching “Chakra,” an AI interviewer that watches candidates complete tasks using an AI assistant and scores both responses and approach, moving it from a beta into general availability after hundreds of thousands of test interviews. Separately, OpenAI is piloting a standardized “mission interview” step for candidates on some teams, starting with marketing and HR, to change how candidates are evaluated across teams.
