— insufficient price data
Correlation does not establish causation. Market moves have many simultaneous causes — macro news, sector rotation, earnings and unrelated company events — and the timing of our daily closes may not align with when an event actually reached the market (pre-announcements, leaks, after-hours trading). Moves are shown next to the S&P 500 (SPY) over the same window so market-wide swings are visible, not hidden. None of this is investment advice.

The TLDRocket take Q3 2026 · written 4 Sep 2026
Broadcom’s latest quarter was a beat, but barely: Q3 2026 EPS came in at 3.32 versus 3.30 expected, a 0.6% surprise. That follows two small misses in Q2 and Q1, after a cleaner beat in Q4 2025, so the pattern here is less “blowout streak” than “landing very close to the line.” The numbers say Broadcom is still executing steadily, but they do not say demand is accelerating in any dramatic way.
What does stand out is where the company keeps placing its AI bets. Broadcom’s OpenAI partnership and the Jalapeño inference chip matter because they tie the company directly to the custom-accelerator push now that major AI buyers want an alternative to Nvidia’s general-purpose training and inference stack. OpenAI has said Jalapeño delivered 1.5 to 1.9 times more work per watt and lower latency in testing, which fits Broadcom’s repeated emphasis on AI accelerators and AI infrastructure. At the same time, Broadcom has been talking up the messier part of the market too: agentic AI is widening the security and control problem inside enterprise infrastructure, and Broadcom is pitching itself into that layer as well. The catch is that this EPS print does not tell us how much of that AI narrative is already translating into revenue or whether the OpenAI roadmap to 10 gigawatts by 2029 is moving faster than planned. The strategic direction is clear; the financial signal here is still fairly modest.
