IBM committed up to $50 million in quantum computing access to support the U.S. Department of Energy's Genesis Mission, which aims to integrate quantum, AI, and classical computing for scientific discovery. IBM will provide access to its 156-qubit Heron and 120-qubit Nighthawk quantum processors to national labs over five years, with average uptime exceeding 97%. The contribution enables researchers to combine quantum computers, supercomputers, and AI in workflows designed to accelerate breakthroughs in energy, materials science, and fusion development.
