Meta ran ads for an app promising to nudify female politicians

Meta ran ads for Kromix, an app described as an AI porn-generation tool that promoted creating deepfaked videos resembling female US politicians despite policies against sexual-content ads. The ads included a scenario captioned “bedroom rape,” and Meta’s promotion showed the politician lookalike winking before switching to pornographic footage. Meta’s ad enforcement faced another reported failure as the app’s nonconsensual deepfake content continued to be marketed while Apple’s App Store previously hosted the app.
