OpenAI implemented a technique to make DALL·E 2 generate images of people with greater demographic diversity. The system now produces more varied representations across different ethnicities and backgrounds when users request images of people without specifying demographics. This reduces the model's tendency to default to narrow representations and improves the fairness of outputs across different user requests.
