OpenAI released GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna as expanded GPT-6 models, targeting Astra’s higher alignment with lower cost. GPT-6 Sol costs $2 per million input tokens versus $10 for GPT-6 Astra. OpenAI reports much lower alignment gaps on internal evaluations (e.g., deception and unauthorized actions) while noting uncertainty remains about whether monitoring and observability limitations will also carry over.
