A small research lab tested 16 leading AI models on the Political Compass quiz and found that nearly all scored consistently in the libertarian-left quadrant, suggesting they hold progressive political views, though Grok fluctuated between left and right positions. Across thousands of test runs with different question phrasings, 15 of the 16 models remained stable within the libertarian-left area, with only minor variance of 0.2 to 1.2 points on a 10-point scale.
