They warn of a "Hollow Economy" where agents consume real resources to produce outputs that satisfy proxies while hidden debt accumulates, requiring investment in observability, verification infrastructure, and robust oversight systems. Society must either build verification capacity to match AI capabilities and benefit from automation, or assume AI is just another technology and face economic disruption.
