The biggest throughline today was the quiet commoditization of “decisioning” software—turning what used to be a prompt and a human review queue into something closer to an API feature you can meter, route, and ship. Jev, the viral AI built for fast classification-style decisions, is now facing a direct challenge: OpenAI’s new Decisions API. OpenAI says it can return decisions up to 10 times faster than calling GPT-6 Luna through the general Responses API, and it prices input at $0.10 per million tokens versus Jev’s $0.042. The practical effect is that developers who used to treat model latency as a rounding error now have to design around it—changing how they structure categories, when they escalate edge cases for human approval, and how thresholds get calibrated so the cheap, fast path doesn’t quietly turn into expensive exceptions.
