The biggest thread running through today’s AI news is the shift from “assistant in the cloud” to “agent on your device,” with security and permissions moving from afterthought to architecture. NVIDIA and Microsoft kicked things off at a San Francisco event, co-engineering Windows PC updates around RTX Spark hardware and Microsoft Execution Containers so AI agents can run in the background and be managed by the operating system. RTX Spark laptops are up for preorder immediately, with availability on October 16, and pricing starts at $2,599 for configurations from Dell, Lenovo, MSI, HP, and Asus—up to $7,000 for higher-end setups.
