Wix is pushing harder into business operations with Symphony, a standalone multi-agent AI system built to do more than help a company look good online. The company says the platform learns a business’s values, needs, practices and goals, then uses that context to automate workflows and spot opportunities.

The pitch leans heavily on Wix’s long run with small and medium-sized businesses. The company says it has spent years working with hundreds of millions of SMBs worldwide, and that this gives it enough institutional knowledge to turn into industry-specific best practices. Retail, insurance, online retail and consulting are among the examples Wix gave, each with its own operating quirks.

At the center is Maestro, the orchestrator. Its job is to decide what needs attention and hand work to specialized agents. Wix compared the setup to a coordinated team of intelligent teammates, and said the agents even hold a daily stand-up meeting to summarize completed work, surface issues and point out new opportunities. Accuracy-checking agents sit in the loop too, validating outputs before they reach the owner.

This is the clearest sign yet that Wix wants to widen its role. The company is no longer talking only about websites and online presence; it wants to sit in the operational layer, where work actually gets done. Symphony is meant to be available across devices, communication channels, voice interfaces, chat apps and AI platforms, which sounds broad because it is.

The move also fits with Wix’s recent building spree. In June 2025, it bought Base44 Inc. and folded in its no-code ability to create production-ready web apps. It also launched its own model, Base 1, in June this year, cutting back on third-party inference and giving itself a more customized setup. Symphony looks like the next step in that same direction: more control, more automation, less dependence on other people’s tools.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

Wix is doing the sensible thing here: selling labor, not just pages. That’s where the money is, and every software company suddenly “discovering” operations is really admitting the website era was only the lobby. The only real test is whether these agent teams do useful work or just produce a very expensive inbox full of confidence.
