CybeDefend launched VibeDefend, a one-command layer for AI coding agents. It watches code as it’s written and can block risky commands before they run.

CybeDefend has launched VibeDefend, a security tool built to sit inside AI coding agents instead of watching from the sidelines. The pitch is simple: install it with one command, and it starts working inside Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Codex and other agents.
Once it’s in place, the agent writes with business rules mined from the repo and security rules kept in context. That matters because the protection is not waiting around for a postmortem. VibeDefend scans each diff while the file is still open.
It also puts up a hard stop for some of the ugliest mistakes an agent can make. If the agent tries to run rm -rf, sudo, or read secrets, the guard is meant to refuse it before the command runs.
CybeDefend says the tool includes SAST, SCA, secrets, IaC, CI/CD and container scanning too. The company is offering a free plan, and no card is required.
This is the second launch from CybeDefend. The company is clearly leaning into the idea that security should sit inside the workflow itself, not trail behind it like a cleanup crew.
My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting
This is the right instinct, and also a neat admission that AI coding agents are now trusted enough to be dangerous. Security bolted on after the fact is already looking old-fashioned. The real story is not that agents write code faster; it’s that they need guardrails before they become very efficient accident machines.
