Verso raises $6M to bring consumer intelligence into business decision-making

Tech.eu Tamara Djurickovic

Verso raised $6M to make consumer research usable inside everyday business decisions. It says teams can get insights faster, cheaper, and beyond a single insights group.

Verso has raised $6 million in seed funding for a platform that tries to move consumer research out of the back room and into the decisions that actually shape products and marketing. Angular Ventures led the round, with 100in, Kima Ventures, Olympe Capital, Sharpstone Capital and a group of business angels joining in. Hexa also backs the company.

The pitch is familiar enough. Large companies spend heavily on consumer research, but the work is slow, expensive and often trapped inside specialist teams. Verso, founded by Lydia Bellahouel and Camille Epitalon, is built to pull that knowledge into the flow of work instead of leaving it as a report that gets filed away and ignored.

The platform handles the research process from study design and participant recruitment through AI-moderated video interviews and automated analysis. Its interviews change in real time, and the conversations are turned into a knowledge base that teams can revisit and query later. Rather than ending with a static deck, Verso keeps building consumer personas as new research comes in, so teams can compare segments and watch attitudes shift over time.

The company says the results are bluntly better on three fronts: roughly 10 times faster to insights, at a quarter of the cost of a traditional research agency, while speaking to around 15 times more consumers. More than 30 companies already use the platform, including Ferrero, Orange and Michelin. Bellahouel traces the idea back to watching companies miss out on revenue because decision-makers couldn’t get usable insight when they needed it.

For now, qualitative interviews are the starting point. But Verso is adding quantitative data, social listening and other sources, and it wants those signals available not just to people but to AI agents doing early analysis inside existing workflows. The new money will go into those integrations, agent access and expansion beyond France, including the US. Hiring is part of the plan too, across engineering and go-to-market roles.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right bet: consumer research is only useful when it shows up before the decision, not after the slide deck. The real story here isn’t AI moderation, it’s trying to turn scattered customer evidence into something teams can actually use without begging an insights group for permission. That’s the sort of unglamorous software that tends to matter more than the loud kind.
