TODAY, a startup founded in 2024, has raised €2.8 million in seed funding to push its AI platform deeper into financial advice and insurance. The company is building what it calls an AI-powered sales operating system for advisors at banks, insurers and brokerages.

The round was co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds and Insurtech Gateway. Seed X, Lucid Capital and angels also joined in, including former HDI chief Herbert Rogenhofer and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq. That mix says a lot about the pitch: this is not just another generic AI tool looking for a home, but software aimed at a regulated profession that still runs on a lot of manual effort.

TODAY’s platform uses AI agents before, during and after client interactions. It can transcribe meetings, take over routine back-office work, coach advisors on sales performance and answer incoming calls. The company says the goal is simple: cut administrative drag so advisors can spend more time with clients.

The startup claims users save an average of five hours a week on admin, can generate up to 10 per cent more revenue and capture around 50 times more insights from client conversations. More than 3,500 advisors across the DACH region already use the platform, from large insurers and distributors to independent brokers.

TODAY says the new money will help it expand further across DACH and extend the platform into more front- and back-office tasks. Co-founder and CEO Michael Gackstatter framed the bet plainly: use AI to handle the paperwork, keep the human relationship in the room.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right kind of AI pitch: boring work first, magic later. Advisors do not need another chatbot with a slick demo; they need fewer forms, fewer calls, and fewer hours lost to admin. In regulated industries, that is how AI earns trust instead of just earning headlines.
