The company has been pitching that same approach beyond phones, including drones, wearables and other tiny cameras where the optics are cramped and the image usually pays for it. Glass Imaging says it measures the point spread function, sensor response and noise profile of each lens-sensor pair, then builds a network around those flaws. Shivansh Rao, who works on the machine learning team, told PetaPixel that controlled tests showed a standard resolution measure rising by more than 50% as pixel size fell from 0.75 to 0.35 microns.

Glass Imaging says the software reached consumer handsets this year. Honor uses it for zoom on the 600 series, which has a 200-megapixel main camera, and a raw video version has been shown running on Qualcomm chipsets. The startup was founded in 2019 by Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop, both former Apple employees who worked on the computational photography behind Portrait Mode. It had raised about $29 million before the sale, including a $20 million Series A led by Insight Venture Management in May 2025 and a $9.3 million extended seed in 2024.
