Hugging Face to sell open-source robots thanks to Pollen Robotics acquisition 🤖
Hugging Face
Hugging Face acquired Pollen Robotics, a company that builds open-source humanoid robots, to expand its robotics offerings beyond the LeRobot software library it launched in 2024. The first robot available for order is Reachy 2, priced at $70,000, which is already used in research labs at Cornell and Carnegie Mellon universities. The acquisition enables Hugging Face to sell complete robotic systems alongside its open-source software, moving from providing tools to providing hardware that developers and researchers can customize.
