Hopscotch AI is going after one of the messier parts of building with multiple model providers: the plumbing. The pitch is simple enough to fit on a launch page. One API. More than 500 AI models. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others in the same place.

The practical hook is less about novelty than friction. Instead of wiring up separate integrations, juggling different accounts, and sorting payments across providers, teams can reach for one layer and keep moving. Hopscotch AI also says users can compare models on their own prompts, set fallback models, and watch usage and spend from a single dashboard.

Pricing is part of the appeal too. The company says it passes through provider rates without platform fees or token markups. That’s the sort of line developers notice immediately, because it keeps the economics legible instead of hiding them behind a vendor tax.

There’s also a Product Hunt-specific push to get people in the door: the first 250 users to sign up get $50 in free model credits, using the code HOPSCOTCH50OFF in the Billing tab. The launch page shows 1 review and 43 followers, which means this is still early, but the idea is familiar for a reason. A lot of AI teams do not want another model family. They want options without another stack of headaches.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the sane part of the AI market: less worship, more routing. The model wars are noisy; the real win is making switching cheap enough that providers have to behave. Open systems age better than little walled gardens with a nice logo and a surprise bill.
