Google’s Pet Memory forgot who my cats are

Google's Pet Memory feature for Gemini in Home is designed to recognize individual pets through Nest cameras and adapt smart home settings accordingly, but the system failed to remember the user's cats after initial setup. The feature relies on Gemini's ability to learn pet identities from camera feeds and apply that knowledge to automate home responses. If Pet Memory cannot reliably identify and retain pet information, users cannot depend on it for the pet-specific automations it promises to enable.

One of the best things my smart home does is help me care for my pets, and security cameras are particularly useful for keeping track of my many critters.
