Finbar is moving its investment research platform out into the open. The company says its data and research tools are now publicly available to all investors, and to the agents working for them.

That’s a notable shift for a product that’s already in use at several of the world’s largest hedge funds. Finbar is pitching itself as research built for AI first, not a traditional workflow with a chatbot bolted on top.

The pitch rests on a mix of data and tooling. Finbar says it combines its own worldwide financial dataset with agentic MCP, search, spreadsheets, report-writing, and other tools meant to help with investment decisions. It also offers worldwide fundamental data through API and MCP access.

On top of that, the company is bundling prebuilt company models and primers, plus a full AI suite for research and modelling that works on the web and in Excel. The public launch is also its second launch on Product Hunt, which gives the release a bit of extra self-awareness: this is no stealth project hiding in a basement.

Finbar says the platform is available with free options. The bet is simple enough: if the same tooling is useful to big hedge funds, there’s a decent chance smaller investors will want a look too.
