Crowny just launched on Product Hunt for MacBooks. It puts AI agents, music, timers, calendars, reminders, files, games and more in the notch.

Crowny launched today on Product Hunt as a dynamic notch app for MacBooks, with a pitch that’s basically “keep everything up top.” The app turns the notch into a little command center for AI agents, music, timers, calendars, reminders, clipboard contents, files, games and water reminders. One glance up, and the point is you should not need to keep switching away from what you’re doing.
The AI angle is built right into the positioning. Crowny says Claude Code, Codex or Grok can tap you in the notch when they need attention. That’s a neat little inversion of the usual notification spam: the assistant interrupts you where you’re already looking.
It’s also selling as a paid app, with a $5 price for the first few buyers. Product Hunt lists it under Productivity, Task Management and Artificial Intelligence, which is exactly the kind of category soup these launch pages love. But the core idea is simple enough. The notch is dead space on a lot of MacBooks, and Crowny is trying to turn it into a useful place instead of a black cutout staring back at you.
That pitch will live or die on whether people actually want their calendar, clipboard and AI prompts all squeezed into one tiny strip of screen. Some will call it elegant. Others will call it a lot of stuff for a notch.
My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting
This is classic Mac software behavior: take a tiny piece of screen hardware and turn it into a religion. The real tell is the mix of AI agents, timers, clipboard, and water reminders in one app — that’s not minimalism, that’s a desktop trying very hard not to be bored. Still, if the notch is already there, someone was always going to rent it out.
