AI/ML has become a major performance factor in motorsport as sponsors shift from traditional tobacco and booze funding toward tech-related backers. Chip Ganassi Racing and OpenAI are showing this in IndyCar this year. As a result, more teams’ resources and competitive advantages increasingly come from AI-related sponsorship and support rather than just cash transfers.
