Summary, retelling and take written by AI under human oversight; images are AI-generated illustrations. How we work · Report an error

AgentGuard is launching on Product Hunt as a security tool for AI agent SKILL.md files. The pitch is simple: paste in a Skill, and it scans for security risks, hidden capabilities, and quality issues before you install it.

What comes back is a Trust Report. That report includes scores, findings, and a clear verdict, so you are not left guessing whether a file looks clean or quietly does something ugly in the background.

The free part matters too. You can use it without creating an account, which lowers the friction enough that people may actually run the check instead of promising themselves they will do it later.

AgentGuard sits squarely at the intersection of developer tools, artificial intelligence, and security. Which feels about right, because the more AI agents start accepting little instruction files from everywhere, the more someone needs to read the fine print for them.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the kind of tooling AI needs more than another glossy demo. Open systems are great until a hidden capability shows up wearing a friendly filename, and then everybody suddenly discovers the joy of security reviews. A free scanner with a blunt verdict is not sexy, but it beats trusting vibes, which is still how too much AI software gets shipped.
