YouTube and YouTube Music begin labeling generative AI–created or modified songs with disclosure tags

YouTube rolled out a new labeling system for songs that are fully generated or altered using generative AI, beginning with an initial rollout and appearing on player pages and in the main YouTube app. Music partners are required to disclose AI use or YouTube may use other signals to identify unlabeled tracks, with label categories distinguishing fully, partially, and non–generatively modified content.
