Google launched its Project Suncatcher satellite, which carries four TPU-based AI chips to evaluate how the hardware performs through launch, radiation, and thermal conditions in space. The satellite is expected to run experiments for about a year with limited chip operation to manage overheating, and additional laser-communication satellite launches are planned for 2027.
