Cloudflare announced tsrs, a Rust port of the TypeScript compiler developed to enable faster type checking with lower memory usage. The project is intended to integrate into Cloudflare’s Rust-based JavaScript tooling and is coordinated with the TypeScript team to keep behavior aligned, with early benchmarks reporting up to 8x faster performance and around 70% lower memory use versus TypeScript 7.0.
