Pollen Robotics at Hugging Face opened pre-orders for Microduck, a 25 cm biped robot that ships with behaviors trained by a reinforcement-learning policy and exported from a physics simulator to the hardware. The robot costs $399 and is scheduled for pre-orders starting August 27, 2026 with deliveries targeted before Christmas. The release makes the training environments, reward functions, randomization settings, and sim-to-real recipe publicly available on GitHub, while only the software is open source under Apache-2.0.
